The unsuccessful April referendum asked for $2.7 million its first year. The district works with Robert W. Baird & Company as its financial advisor. The $2.9 million was the minimum the district would need over each of the next three years to provide the programming impacted by this spring's budget cuts and to address heating and cooling concerns at Evansville High School.

The school district's administrative team will provide regular updates at school board meetings about the staff hired back and about the HVAC projects completed at the high school. These will also be posted to social media with a "thank you" to the community.

The school district has reached out and met with its state senator and representative in a session that was covered by The Janesville Gazette and can be viewed on the district's YouTube Channel. The district will advocate for changes to state funding for public education when the Joint Finance Committee meets this spring.
