Welcome to Evansville- home of the Blue Devils!

Now in my third year in Evansville, I cannot express enough how fortunate I feel to be leading the schools in this community. From the professional and dedicated staff, to supportive families, and strong partnerships with the city, townships, and local businesses, Evansville is positioned to grow, yet keep its historic roots and charm. My hope is for the Evansville Community School District to be the heart of the city, serving as a champion for all that is good about Evansville, promoting the community, and representing it well as staff and student ambassadors.

I grew up in Janesville and attended UW-Madison to become a History teacher.  My first job was teaching Social Studies at Grand Haven Area High School in Michigan.  While teaching in Grand Haven, I earned my master’s degree in K-12 Educational Leadership from Michigan State University.  After five years in Michigan, my wife and I moved back to Wisconsin. I taught and coached at my alma mater, Janesville Craig High School, for another eight years.  At that point, I was hired as an Assistant Principal at DeForest Area High School.  While working in DeForest for five years, I earned my superintendent’s license through Edgewood College. At Edgewood, I completed all of my doctoral coursework but have yet to complete my dissertation.  That is still a goal of mine!  Prior to my time in Evansville, I worked for the School District of Belleville for a decade- the first six years as the principal of the middle and high schools and the last four as the District Administrator.

In August, I will celebrate my 27th wedding anniversary with my wife, Sarah. She has worked as an elementary school teacher for that same amount of time- 27 years.  We have four daughters together.  Emma graduated with her master's degree in Social Work from UW-Madison.  Isabel will be a junior at the University of Minnesota.  Olivia will be entering her junior year of high school, and our youngest, Nora, will be starting middle school.  We still travel as a family every summer and enjoy playing cards or board games and watching movies.  I am a big Wisconsin sports fan…Go Badgers, Brewers, Bucks, and the Pack!  I also like reading and spending time outdoors.

I have had three personal goals for my work in Evansville.  First, I intend to bring stability to the district, including financial stability.  Change is hard, and Evansville has endured a lot of it.  Second, I want the Evansville Community School District to be one that students, parents, and staff are proud of.  Specifically, Evansville should consistently be an “exceeds expectations” school district with academic growth and high achievement.  Finally, I pledge to be visible and accessible within the district and out in the community.  To that end, I invite you to reach out to me if you would like to talk or meet.  Just contact me by email (perryn@evansville.k12.wi.us) or phone (608-882-3386).  I promise a quick reply!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your District Administrator! I am grateful for the faith that has been shown in me.  I will work tirelessly to make the Evansville Community School District one that you are proud to call your own!  If you are interested in seeing what I am up to, feel free to follow me on Instagram and Twitter.

Have a (Blue) Devil of a day!
