Each summer the ECSD offers students in grades K-12 a variety of summer school options from June through August.
K-5 Summer School Enrichment Program
For many years, students in grades K-5 have enjoyed several sections of fun and enriching summer school classes. Although new and exciting classes are added to this program each summer, this list of previous course offerings can provide a glimpse of the great summer opportunities offered in the ECSD.
JCM Summer School
Middle school students have the option to choose from two, three, or four summer school classes. Environmental science, creative writing, coding, and Spanish were courses enjoyed by students last June.
K-5 Target Literacy Instruction
Families of students in grades K-5 have a variety of scheduling options for summer reading instruction. Students identified for additional support in the area of early literacy development have the opportunity to work with expert teachers on foundational reading skills during the summer months.
Power of Positive Athletes Program (POPA)
POPA is available to all students in grades 6-12 focusing on strength, agility, flexibility, and conditioning by identifying personal fitness baselines, goals, and action plans. Through the support of ECSD teaching and coaching staff, students track personal fitness growth over the course of the summer.
